Hello Again China

What a whirlwind week that was!!! It feels like I left Guangzhou 5 minutes ago and I’m already back..
First of all I’m happy to report that there was no throwing up on any of my flights 😂 well done me! I did, however, think I was going to die during the flight to Paris – worst. turbulence. EVER. People were screaming, I was gripping onto the armrests and I’m pretty sure the girl next to me was praying.. it lasted about an hour and I felt so stressed by the end of it that I slept for 6 hours. I suppose in hindsight it wasn’t the worst thing that could have happened!
I knew that going home was going to be tough considering we’ve been in China for less than 3 months and we’re still not completely settled, but it really has made me quite home sick. I think I’ve got to the point where China isn’t so “shiny and new” anymore – it’s real life. I know that if I keep a positive attitude I’ll be able to (hopefully) push through it though and it’s good to remember why we’re doing this and to focus on the things we’ll gain from it. There’s still so many places in Asia we want to visit (we have a huge list of cities/towns to see in China alone)!
I don’t want this to read like I don’t realise how fortunate I am to be in this position. I’m so grateful for the opportunities we’ve had and the places we’ve been because of it, it’s just sometimes I’d like to go to Sainsburys to do the weekly food shop and moan about the price of having to fill up my car with petrol like a normal person 😜
I had such a fun day shopping in London, going for walks in the New Forest and seeing my family and friends. Before we left I think I took for granted just how pretty the south of England is. You drive past the same places every day on your way to work or the shops and I never really appreciated the scenery – it’s such a beautiful part of the country ❤

I will admit I hadn’t missed eating rice but I think a part of me also missed Chinese food, in a really strange way. It’s nice to be back in our little cocoon and I’m hoping I settle again as quickly as possible.
In the meantime, I need to unpack the rest of my suitcase and finalise things for our wedding which is only 3 MONTHS AWAY aaaahhh! Hopefully I will have finished unpacking my suitcase by then 😉
