Home Time

Happy hump day everybody!!
This week so far has been a little bit harder for me than usual. Toby left early on Monday morning to head back to the UK so the little bubble we’ve created here burst.
I’m definitely not struggling as much as I did the first week he travelled just after we arrived in Guangzhou but it’s always kind of sad when he leaves. This city can feel so exciting and adventurous when you have someone to share that with but when you’re alone it’s funny how tiny you can feel. This big, exciting city suddenly becomes a little bit intimidating and scary.
Although saying that, I had such a fun evening on Monday. We’ve met a great couple since being here who also recently moved from Miami (Sandy, if you’re reading this πŸ‘‹πŸΌπŸ˜‚) and the two of us went for dinner while the guys are both out of town. It was so much fun to talk for hours about life, eat some delicious food and sip on some G&Ts. I felt like it took us such a long time to make friends in Singapore (because it did!!!) but once we found them our time there felt so much easier and we know we’ve now got best friends for life, regardless of the countries we all live in.
Tonight I’ll be tidying up our apartment and starting to pack my suitcase because I fly home on Friday ☺️ I haven’t been back since Christmas 2015!! I’m only home for a week so it’s been a struggle to cram everything in but I can’t wait to see my family and catch up with some friends – I definitely won’t have a minute to feel bored that’s for sure! I’ll also be heading up to London which I’m super excited about because I haven’t been there for years. That’s going to be an epic shopping trip for sure!
I don’t know why, and it only ever seems to get worse, but long haul flights make me so anxious! I’m not scared of flying (actually love taking off – weeeeeeee) and I don’t get claustrophobic but I just end up feeling so ill, to the point that I can’t take a flight without anti sickness tablets anymore. Yep, I’ve been THAT passenger heaving into a paper bag 😷 I bet you were wondering if people ever actually used those?! I would go into more detail but 1) you might be eating while you read this and 2) I’ll loose all dignity if I take it any further.. . One bonus of the tablets though (minus the obvious) is that they really knock you out. I don’t think I’ve ever slept for so long on a plane before.
Hopefully the rest of this week goes by without any incidents and I can get myself drugged up and onto my flight in no time πŸ˜‚ XO

I am just the same. Give me those pills. Never forget that first flight to Singapore 4hrs at the end of the flight locked in the toilet. And put in a wheel chair in the airport. Always remember Toby’s faceπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚. It’s great being sleepy on the flight. Can’t wait to see you lovely lady. Have a relaxed flight back . Xxxxx
